Includes: 10Hours of Anatomy + 5Hours of Movement Workshops + Sequencing Discussions</b
This 15HR online course is divided into four segments. Each segment comes equipped with 5-15 videos that span a variety of applied anatomy topics. After segment 2, 3, and 4, you also have access to 90 minute movement workshops with Bianca, Steph, and Erin. These workshops help to apply the previously covered material in a creative sequencing format, as well as have detailed discussions following the classes to discuss the sequence covered.
Segment 1 focuses on basic anatomical theory, movement terminology, bone review, joint basics and a brief understanding of skeletal muscle. Segment 2 allows us to dig deeper into the relationship between the ribs, pelvis, and breath, spine specifics, and the muscles involved in spinal movements. Authentic Movement teachers use visuals, touch cues, and myofascial release to help you achieve a neuromuscular connection to the muscles discussed. Segment 2 finishes with a movement workshop by Bianca to cement the concepts learned thus far.
Segment 3 focuses heavily on the lower body as we review major musculature of the pelvis, hips, and legs. Again, prepare to watch, listen, and touch to help solidify these topics into your practice, and finish this segment with a lower body yoga implications discussion, a movement class with Steph about hip stability, and a brief discussion about creative sequencing.
Segment 4 finishes up with the shoulders, arguably one of the more complex, but important topics in yoga. Delve deep into the scapular stabilizing muscles and rotators cuff, but also learn more about the major movers, and even high level topics like scapulohumeral rhythm. Complete your 15HR program with a takeaways discussion with Steph, compression workshop with Erin, and a final sequencing explanation.
The overall goal of this package is to provide a solid and useful foundation for anatomy and sequencing that you can utilize in your personal practice and/or teaching, no matter the style or school of yoga/movement that you’re passionate about.
